Understanding the Changes to the Federal Policy on Protection of Human Subjects (the Common Rule) – A Review of the Changes & Tips to Ensure Compliance

A revised version of the federal rule governing Human Subjects Research (i.e. the Common Rule) is currently scheduled to go into effect on January 19, 2018. All studies approved on or after the effective date must comply with the new rule. For new studies submitted after the effective date and for studies where the initial IRB review is in progress (but not completed) as of the effective date the new rule may require consent form or other changes. Please join representatives from Johns Hopkins University’s three IRB offices [Homewood IRB, School of Medicine IRB and School of Public Health IRB) to learn more about the rule changes. This session will review the key changes and provide tips to investigators and study teams on how to comply with the new requirements. Each session will include an opportunity for questions. You can sign up for a training session in My Learning located here: http://lms14.learnshare.com/l.aspx?CID=89&A=2&T=734689 .
