Homewood IRB (HIRB) open office hours are held weekly on Thursdays from 11am-1pm EST on Zoom. All JHU student, faculty, and staff researchers are welcome to attend!
During open office hours, HIRB staff will be available to offer support and guidance related to the IRB application process. HIRB staff members can answer questions about when and how to apply for IRB approval, how to navigate the eHIRB application system, what to expect when an application is undergoing IRB review, and other topics related to human subjects research at JHU.
No reservations are required! However, please feel free to send questions to the staff in advance via email at [email protected]. During open office hours, researchers will be admitted one at a time to discuss projects with HIRB staff. Additional visitors will be able to join the waiting room and be admitted to office hours in the order in which they joined the meeting. Please stay on the Zoom and monitor the waiting room chat for messages from HIRB staff.

Please note that open office hours will not be held on official JHU holidays. Additionally, open office hours may be reduced by one hour to 11am-12pm on days when the Whiting School of Engineering (WSE) observes early closures ahead of official JHU holidays.
